The Old Library, Magdalene College
Thursday 07 November 2019

Our Heritage Volunteers have been working for a year in the Old Library, Magdalene College and more recently also in the Archives and we and would be delighted if you were to visit on 3 October, 7 November and/or 5 December when the Old Library, which is in one of the most historic parts of the College, will be open for visitors to see displays of items from the College's special collections and archives, not normally open to the public.

7th November - Eating and Drinking - the display of archival material and artifacts will examine the history of food and drink in the College. Sorry - this one clashes with the SID.

5th December - Incunabula - an exploration of the Old Library's collection of books from before 1501 from England and continental Europe, including an early edition of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Please note, this even clashes with our lecture on Jewellery in the early twentieth century.  Sorry - you'll have to choose!

Entrance is free.  Please bring your friends. Open 11.00 - 1.00.
